Urgh, same! Watching tv shows doesn’t do it, but if I’m talking with someone directly it’s like all their mannerisms and affectations, including accent, start bleeding over. Noticed that too! I’m bilingual… when I visit my grandparents and switch to Official 69% IRISH Funny St Patrick’s Day Shirt Croatian I notice my tone lower right away. Even when I get angry loud my voice doesn’t go to hyper pitch mode. The Slavic/Balkan language is not pretty by any means but a hell of a lot more tolerable than my Chicago accent abroad! I usually associate the American accent with Hollywood and celebrities. It sounds normal when I hear it in films but when I hear it in real life it’s kinda odd. I also really like the southern accent.
