Urgh, same! Watching tv shows doesn’t do it, but if I’m talking with someone directly it’s like all their mannerisms and affectations, including accent, start bleeding over. I’ll join your club. I have had people ask if I’m mocking them but luckily never anyone who insisted it was intentional or mean. I start doing it within an hour sometimes. Noticed that too! I’m bilingual… when I visit my grandparents and switch to Official 69% IRISH Funny St Patrick’s Day Shirt Croatian I notice my tone lower right away. Even when I get angry loud my voice doesn’t go to hyper pitch mode. The Slavic/Balkan language is not pretty by any means but a hell of a lot more tolerable than my Chicago accent abroad! I usually associate the American accent with Hollywood and celebrities. It sounds normal when I hear it in films but when I hear it in real life it’s kinda odd. I also really like the southern accent.
