The transition of dependent to breadwinner was almost seamless at 20; I’m still pretty poor but they are downright destitute. I’m moving into a van. Don’t think this is just an American issue, here in Ireland it’s the same. At one stage I and all my social circles were all renting places but now I’m the now late 20s were all back home. Curious, in Ireland or the UK is there also a stigma about living with parents the same as it is in the US.

Yes and no. Some people look down on Nice First I’ll Steal Your Heart Then I’ll Steal Your Bed And Sofa Shirts it but others don’t because of how crazy rent has gotten in Ireland. To be Ireland had a significant population increase in the last 20 years too so that also corresponds to the problem. But also next to no housing has been built to deal with the pop increase so the demand is huge at the moment and rent skyrocket as a result. 5 years ago a 1-bed apartment to rent in my town was. 700 a month that same apartment is now 1400 a month. Rent is a disaster. And don’t get me started on mortgages.
